‘Our hearts are breaking’ RFS on the death of 28-year-old firefighter
In an emotional press conference, NSW RFS Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons pays tribute to 28-year-old volunteer firefighter Samuel McPaul. McPaul was killed after a ‘freak’ weather event described as a fire tornado lifted his truck off the ground in the Green Valley blaze near the NSW-Victoria border. McPaul had been married for 18 months, and was expecting a child with his wife Megan in May.
